HICKORY, N.C. (January 21, 2010) – FrogTape® brand painter’s tape is proud to announce its sponsorship of professional bass angler Brian Travis. Mr. Travis will be fishing in the FLW Series and FLW Tour set to kick off January 27 in Okeechobee, Fla.

Mr. Travis has been bass fishing since he was 7 years old, learning the ropes from his older brother, Jim, a long-time employee of Shurtape – the company behind FrogTape. During his college years, Mr. Travis joined two amateur fishing clubs in North Carolina. After winning many of those clubs’ tournaments, club members suggested Mr. Travis turn pro.

In 2008, Mr. Travis won The Bass Federation National Championship on Lake Wylie in Charlotte, N.C. With that win, he earned a spot in the Forrest Wood Cup, the Super Bowl of bass fishing, convincing him he was ready to compete at the professional level. Last year was Mr. Travis’ first year on the pro circuit where his skill earned him three top 15 finishes and two top 50 finishes.

HICKORY, N.C. (January 6, 2009) – Shurtape Technologies and its FrogTape brand, in a collaborative effort with Sherwin-Williams, announced that Larry DeLuca, a paint contractor from Stamford, CT, has been selected as the winner of the “Will your Frog turn into a van?” sweepstakes.

Shurtape and Sherwin-Williams launched the sweepstakes to increase the awareness of FrogTape and its unique formula, PaintBlock® Technology, which ensures clean lines and no touch ups for the professional or DIY painter. Every roll of FrogTape was specially marked, enabling the purchaser to enter into a drawing to win a new Ford Commercial van, filled with a variety of painting supplies and materials.

Shurtape Technologies, LLC Announces Acquisition of Henkel’s Duck®, Painter’s Mate Green® and Easy Liner® Brands

HICKORY, NC (June 2, 2009) – Shurtape Technologies, LLC today announced it has acquired the Duck®, Painter’s Mate Green® and Easy Liner® brands in the U.S. and Canada from Henkel Corporation. Shurtape has been a long-time supplier to Henkel, which is based in Dusseldorf, Germany and operates in Home Care, Personal Care and Adhesives Technologies businesses. The brands acquired by Shurtape are the do-it-yourself (DIY) line of tapes, office and houseware products, including Duck® brand duct tape and stationery, mailing and shipping, and kitchen and bath products. Included in the acquisition are certain worldwide rights to these brands as well as Henkel’s Avon, Ohio facility.
